Rialto Bridge

Rialto Bridge is the oldest of the four bridges that cross Venice’s Great Canal. It’s the best known both for its design and its history, because it was the most important economic center of the city for years. The bridge was built between 1588 and 1591 and it was designed by architect Antonio da Ponte, in order to replace the late wooden bridge, because it collapsed twice and burnt down once in the past.
